Red & Green Christmas

Can't believe that the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge is today - already! The year has just flown by. I know I say it almost every month, but Nichole has provided us with one of the bestest prompts ever for this month's hop ...

Seriously! Isn't that gorgeous? I had already chosen my colour scheme for Christmas this year (because that's how I roll) and it's mint and red, so this was just up my alley. I plan on making gift tags just like these ones as soon as my October PTI order arrives with Spruce & Sprigs in it! In the meantime, I made a card ...

... and it happens to be shaker. Since I don't have Vintage Jadeite yet, I ink blended a background using a combination of Spring Moss and Hawaiian Shores; it's what I imagine Jadeite might look like :)

I had a really difficult time deciding whether or not to add that Santa and his sleigh die cut, so I'm counting on you to decide for me. Here's the card without Santa ...

Supplies

Paper - PTI Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy, New Leaf, True Black; Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Metallic Collection
Stamps - PTI In The Meadow, All Through The House (Make it Market kit), Bells & Boughs
Ink - PTI Smokey Shadow, New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Pinefeather (which I'm loving so so much, much to my surprise)
Dies - PTI Shaker Shapes: Ornaments, All Through the House (Make It Market kit), Holly Jolly, Bells & Boughs, Building Blocks
Shaker Filler - Snow from PTI Tinsel & Tags (Make it Market kit); Tim Holtz Distress Stickles Dry Glitter Clear Rock Candy

  7. Super shaker card! Love it! And your blending of the two colours is just super! I'm impressed by how smooth your blending is (mine always has streaks) and it looks like Vintage Jadeite to me ;). Btw, I think I like the simpler version, without Santa.

  12. Awe, Diana, this is dropdead gorgeous! Your color blending is spot on and looks a bit minty to me. Hmmm, hard to choose which I like better but I'm leaning toward the first one including Santa.

  14. These are both wonderful. I'd send both of them. However, if you want my vote, it's the one with the Santa. I mean, who doesn't love Santa (even lil ole Jewish me!) I just received my Vintage Jadeite yesterday, and I think you did a bang up job creating the new color perfectly.

  31. I love your diy Jadeite! I like both, the one without the Santa is less busy but when when you put that little Santa in it's such a cute detail, so I'm no help, they are both great!

  32. Diana, This is sooooooo melt my snowman heart cute!

  33. I love both cards but I thought I like the one without Santa better. Because the card is so cute and the focus draws away from the snowmen and I like to see them.
